Default MSD pump booster vs KB boost a pump

which is better and why?

the msd seems simpler, i dont need another **** in front of me

http://www.kennebell.net/accessories...boostapump.htm
http://www.lingenfelter.com/lingenfe...44&pf%5Fid=625
the kb has a ton of data to back how it works. i can't say the same for the msd. also lingenfelter sells it over the msd so it MUST be better...right?

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...5&sid=259#P690

the msd does not say what load it can handle.. myself needing to use it on two pumps i would want the 40 amp version of the KB

real world experience with both?

thanks

where is the conrucopia(sp?) of knowledge i see so much of in other threads?

i believe that this here means that i have to go with the KB.. the amp ratings look like the msd can only hold one pump at high voltage
http://www.msdignition.com/tc_24.htm

from some psi charts i have seen, i will be about 8-10 amps per pump

I'd ask Ed Potter at LPE what they use for Dumler's +1000rwhp car.

What reason did KB give?

I have no actual experience with either of those.

I just use a "volt blaster". Raises the entire system voltage to around 15.5 volts. (so it is an aid to the ignition as well)

I've been using it for years, and the only 'bad' thing that happened is my low beam headlights burnt out.

oh ok.. i thought wrong.. it keeps 15.5 all the time?

guy at kb said a single walbro at high pressure could draw 40 amps!! they said their 40 amp was to run one aftermarket pump and their 20 amp was to run one stock pump

both places said i would likely burn the units up running two pumps off one unit

Ed Potter, Where are you?

I bought eh KB unit from LPE...I don't wven need it, the single walboro intank works good enough with the hotwire kit for my application. KB seems to work great on LPE TT cars...that much I do know.

I ran the kb bap when I was spraying and blowing the v6. Single stock v6 pump, running 13.2 quarters on 150 dry shot.

I plan to run the kb bap with the walbro 255 that's going in with the STS install.

I like the adjustability, I can turn it up just enough to hold the fuel pressure/volume I need. I also like the boost activated switch. (maybe the msd has it too, I don't know, but the kb definitely does.)

Seems like I remember the kb would go up to 15.5v also. I was seeing 10.5-11v idling without it.

The volt blaster is TPS activated.

The one we use on ls1 cars is listed on our website under pcm/electrical.

the Volt Blaster works great. I used it on my SS. I am currently using the KB boost a pump and it also works great. You can watch the fuel pressure bump up once the nitrous kicks in..
