injector messed up??
injector messed up?? i used to have a huge misfire on the #5 cyl and would throw a p0300 code so my converter wouldn't lock up, then all of a sudden it stopped and the car ran fine and the converter would lock up...now the misfire came back and i switched around coils, tried different plugs, wires, and switched the wires for the coils and it was still there, so then i switched the #5 injector with the #2 injector and now the #2 injector (which was the #5 inj) is misfiring like crazy...i then took it to a friend and he cleaned out my injectors using some can through fuel rails and it still misfires...could it be the injector, or something i overlooked? if its the injector, what could it be thats making it not work? any input is appreciated...thanks

If there's a lot of rust action in the forward lines that will
silt up the injectors. Which ones get it worst, depends on
the rail setup. Anyway, forward-shot cleaning with solvents
won't do anything for this, the rust will just laugh at organics
and sit there on the screen. A reverse flushing might dislodge
some of it. Or perhaps just a good ultrasonic bath and a
syringe (like the turkey injectors at the grocery store) to
flush the inlet of the residue that ultrasound should knock
loose. Work at it over a paper towel and see what comes out.
Now, I would not expect that kind of problem to come and go.
So wonder if there might be some sort of electrical intermittent
in the injector, like a broken coil connection that "mostly" makes
contact.
At one point Texas Speed was selling take-off rails and injectors
for dirt cheap. Maybe just get a whole clean new set. Or someone's
old stockers that you can just swap in and try out.
