Default Will Truck Throttle Body Work? Worth It?

I've read that the TB's for GM trucks (LS Motors) are 80mm compared to 75mm for F-bodies and will work on them. First, is this a true bolt on swap? Is there a specific year to look for? If I can get a deal on a new throttle body for a 6.0 truck, would it be a good mod? Thanks

I have never had any luck finding one of these or even proving that it is true. Let me know what you find out.

They are the exact TB you have on your car no difference in size. Besides your intake opening is only about 77mm which is what you port the stocker to no need to go bigger than that.

My ported TB is a truck unit, with the throttle shaft/cam
and PCV bung swapped (and coolant bungs cut off). The
casting number is the same for all, the fittings differ, and
there't nothing to gain (other than, I like to preserve my
stock pieces where possible and buy replacements if I'm
going to hack).

Dunno about later drive by wire trucks but these are not
relevant to F-bodies.
