Great post, I have my fuel system set up like that also...thanks Pat for all the help back in the day
I have a dedicated -8an feedline and a dedicated -6 return going back to the tank. I didn't use any of the stock lines. I also opted for the cheaper twist loc hose...or parker hose to some.

Although, if you can ship me my tank before too long I won't have to worry 'bout installing 2 in-tanks in the 98 surrogate gas tank that I bought...

The 99+ tanks are not baffled. The supply pump is inside a bucket with a siphon to keep the bucket full of gas. When you hack the bucket to install 2 pumps you lose the "bucket baffle effect".....you can "get by" by running at least a 1/3 tank of gas, but risk the pumps sucking air on a really hard launch...say 1.50 sixty on slicks.

Would a better idea be to ditch the dual walbros and just do a "better" single pump?

Yes that is exactly the correct way to do it on the 99+ cars. That is why we built the sumped race tank for a big external pump. Way too many problems getting the stock tank to work. It is just a hack.

So no single in-tank would be good with this setup in the 99+? Are there even any other in-tank pumps?

I think we are comparing apples to oranges. The original intent of this post was to help out any DIY people on this board, who aren't spending a bunch of money on fuel systems for their applications. I intend to run this setup for a year, then modify it to accept a sumped 98 tank with an inline pump. So for what it's worth, the single/dual intanks are good for milder applications.

I'm appologizing to everyone for not getting the Drawing worked on faster. Been busy at work and limited on free time. I'm not forgetting this thread and I will get the drawing done.

I'm planning on doing a couple. 1 Overview, 1 IN-TANK, 1 exterior of tank, fuel filter, return lline and feed line, 1 of the rail and regulator. 5 total. Power point.

Then I want to do these in Visio if I have time. Should clean it up better and allow for better resolution and pics.

MM still has 2 intanks and he has way more than a mild setup. i would like to know as well, would 1 single external pump be best or two intanks. now granted i already have the racetronix setup, what would be BEST to do

I know Dave does not have a mild setup. It was a broad generalization. From what I have gathered, most people run an external pump(s) and a sumped/baffled tank. That is apparently, the "best" way to do it.

I have done the Ractronix's setup.... wasnt enough.... i then switched to the pic's in the beginning..... Got my idea's from David.
I went with one Bosch external pump from Nate.
I had planned on two external pumps with one on a hobb's switch but changed my mind after reading more into it.
If one pump goes out then you will never know until its to late.. ie full boost.
I went one big external pump......
David has shown us twin intank pumps can be done.....

This thread has alot of good info.

i feel that the oem style pumps are more dependable.

you can get f'd lots of different ways.. like if you are driving to work and your high dollar race pump grinds to a stop.

fwiw i check that my second pump will come on every time before i race

i would like to see what a single bosch 420 would do with a volt booster... and put it in the tank too maybe
