this may sound off beat but in the shop where i used to work, i used carb cleaner. i'm sure someone will say this dries out the oring, but different lubricants can too. the alcohol in the carb clean will make the oring extremely slick for a very short time, then will evaporate to make a non-slick seal. even rubbing alcohol works in a pinch. try it sometime.

I use whale sperm, there is nothing better.
The old school posi lube was Sperm whale oil made out of their fat and it was amazing just ran out of favour with the natural types ya know. not "whale sperm" ya freak!
do you spit it in a cup first or directly on the o-ring ?
