Hydrogen is here, it just will take time to create an infrastructure to support it. How long that takes depends on a whole bunch of things. Don't mean IC engines will disappear, hell they will be going for a long time.

Default liberals suck

I didn't think you were allowed to own a ls1 if you were a liberal, I thought those people bought mustangs. Bill Clinton left us with a 650 million dollar surplus but he also set us up for faliure. He could have easialy taken out osama but he may have killed 3 people(muslims who cares). That money is gonna have to go somewhere after that attack on american soil, funding new security and such.

I think republicans and democrats suck, I don’t know who is worst. Crybaby, anti gun(You'll never take my gun's BTW), purple haired liberals or greedy capitalists, self-riotous Christian conservatives. Some go way too far. JMO

i voted Bush both times and can honestly say that today im not happy with him but if i had the chace to do it again(vote) i would STILL vote for him. Kerry would have been a nightmare in office.

as far as the "unjustified" war in iraq; wait twenty years and see how much better off those people in that part of the world will be because of whats going on their now.

there are powers at play in this war that most people cant understand there are viscous truths that people in civilized countries cant comprehend and that is why most people dont understand this war but in the long term this is a right war.

Politics aside, if we don't embrace E85 and Bio Diesel we will see the worst depression in our history. It won't matter who is in Office!

If I could vote.. I would have voted for Bush, and I disagree with somethings he does, for the most part I agree with him. I'll never understand why a country doesnt stand behind its leader, that is beyond me. And as far as the war in Iraq, I have a friend who guarded chemical weapons in Iraq, and Saddam's #3 guy recently came out with a book and was interviewed and states in both the interview and the book that Iraq did have WOMD they were just removed before the inspection teams got there (the entire world knew the teams were going in 6 months prior for crying out loud) remember the satalite pictures of huge convoys leaving Iraq but nobody knew what was in them, well there you go. The guy said he hated working with Saddam. As for the actual topic of the thread someting needs to be done with the oil companies, and that is one of the things I dont agree with Bush on, they are making a HUGE economic profit and something has to be done. E85 is a good idea, but to make enough of it to supply the nation, practically the whole country would have to be covered in crop, I like the idea of hydrogen, but it needs ALOT of work.

I've heard the same thing. The oil companies profits last year were something like $50 billion for one quarter. Who entitles them to make that kind of profit on something thats practically a necessity?? Its ridiculous, they shoudn't be profiting anything near that much, a few million at most.

It just proves that they've been screwing everyone all along

Ive been reading alot about this subject..... the downside to E85 is it still depends on oil to make it..... oil for the 15% gasoline in it.
Oil is going to run out sooner or later and a fuel needs not to depend on oil as a source.
Thats awsome that they made 1000rwhp on it.....
The good thing about E85 is if we all do switch to it it will stretch the life of oil out farther.

Everything in this country depends on oil one way or another..... sooner or later we are all going to fall real hard..........
I hope im not alive to see it happen...... and im only 25.......

No noticeable increase in performance but also no problems. Mileage dropped from 12.5-13 to 11.75-12.25. They managed to jack the price up til it is higher than E10.
E85 is very corrosive, if you continue to run it your asking for problems. E85 vehicles have completely different fuel systems (tank, lines, injectors ect.)to resist the corrosion. They also have more compression along with timing changes. Once this stuff gets popular there are going to be millions are cars with 2000 dollar repair bills. GM has over a million vehicles capable, that includes only vehicles ordered with the flexfuel systems which has been out since 05 on select trucks/cars.

Oh my god, how many times do i have to post the same info before you all get it. Of course the profits go up because the price of doing business has gone up due to high crude prices. There is no gouging.

Go to page 4 of these financial documents from Exxon and calculate the profit margins for Exxon in the last 5 years. exxons financial statements.

They have never went over 10%. What that means is that for every 9$ they spend in making product, they earn $1. Thats not a big profit margin is it. So what if they are making big profits, its all about selling volume, the margin still stays the same. they have to spend a lot of money to make the product before they even see the %10 that they make back in profit.

You people that buy this record profits price gouging crap fed to you are purely ignorant and have no real idea of economics or accounting at all.

Picture of a Ethanol plant in South Dakota

12 Ethanol plants in south dakota so far.. If they can get the production up, and the technology figured out in the cars i think this whole idea will work out for the better.
