electrical question ( fuel sender...still) haha
I'm still fighting this non-working fuel gauge problem. I've been stumped for weeks now and tonight had a small break through although I don't quite know how to interpret it.
I made some jumpers for the plug so I can read ohms with it plugged in. Without it plugged in I was seeing 98 ohms. When I plugged it into the connector on the rear firewall the ohms dropped to 84 and when I turned the key on they dropped to 7ohms. I'm almost positive that's why my gauge is showing empty. What I don't know is why. Would that be the sign of a bad ground and how would I check if it's in the direction of the fuel pump or the pcm?
nevermind, I forgot there's a 5v charge to the sender so the ohm readings are null and void. I'm just out of ideas. The sender is good, the grounds are good, and I'm out of stuff to check. Does anyone make an aftermarket fuel gauge that works with the stock pump?
