Default How Do You Test Injectors?

I am having problems with my motor not making good power. The motor is new but so are the injectors. The injectors I bought used and I suspect are no good. Before I dig into the motor I would like to be able to test the injectors first to see if they are any good. How do I do this?

injectors spray fuel, and work off of voltage from the car.

so get you an air tank, take off your fuel rail w/injectors installed (completely off of the car)
DO BE CAREFULL ON DOING THIS
but hook up the air tank to the driver side port on the front of the rail, slowly let air pressure in, just slightly open the air tank. and take a 12v battery of somesort, or run wires from your car battery and probe each side of the 2 prongs on each injector and you should hear them hiss.

i bought some racetronix 36.5#ers and 1 of them was being 'sticky' and not wanting to work, so we started doing what i listed above and found that 1. then we pestered it and pestered it, hell we even banged it one time and then it worked fine and still is

i really don't get how that tells him if he has a bad one or not, or how to test them. I'm very confused.

Hey I really appreciate that. Makes sense. I'll give it a shot.

I had a misfire in my car. I scanned it and checked the plug and coil pack. Swapped the coil pack to another cylinder and it didnt change the misfire. So I disconnected the injector and checked for a pulse signal thru my test kit. I was getting a pluse from the PCM. Then I started the car and unplugged the injector and nothing changed. Swapped it out and it was good to go. Maybe its not the perfect way but thats the way I figured it out.

Injectors also have a resistance to them. Do an ohm test on them they should all be +-1ohm from 14 ohms.

thats more like it. thats telling the story.

the resistance won't tell you if they are sticking or not. but that is true

I’m alittle confused here. If you can hook a 12v source up to the injector as ZL1Killa says, then how can you measure the resistance between the two prongs as Nasty N8 indicates?

I sure as heck don’t want to connect 12v to my injectors if there is continuity between the two prongs…..
