Default General fuel pressure question

On a motor with internal fuel pressure regulator that needs at minimum 45 PSI..Can I get the 60 PSI fuel pump and let the regulator do it's job? If I use the 60 PSI pump will it put stress on the regulator and make the regulator fail? thanks

Unless the regulator is too small, it will be fine. If the regulator is too small the pressure will exceed 45.

255l walbro would be a start...plumb it into the factory lines and regulator and monitor the pressure...may be all you'll need. If the pressure jumps to +50 psi, you will need an aftermarket regulator to control the pressure. I'd start simple though.

The walbro is similar in psi but granatelli makes a 255lph pump that runs at 45 psi. You can find it at jegs under the ls1,lt1,lt4 tab.
