fuel cooler?
fuel cooler? im in the process of swapping in a ls1 into my 92 camaro and wondering if there would be any benefits to using a fuel cooler. its basically a plastic bucket that your fuel line coils around in, you fill it with ice and it cools the fuel before entering the fuel rail. would i see any proformance gains from something like this? if you could tell me the benefits to running something like this just let me know, also you opinions as well.

Never seen anyone use them in a fuel injected car, with the amount of fuel a return style EFI system flows the ice sure wouldnt last long. on a carburated car the fuel moves fairly slow and the old cool cans used to work pretty well.
I used a small fuel to air cooler (looked like a power steering cooler) in my return line to keep the fuel a little cooler going into the tank, mostly to keep the pumps from cavitating on hot fuel.

Theory has it that you do not want the fuel hot enough to heat the air around it when it vaporizes but hot enough to vaporize completely, what that perfect temp is I dont know but maybe you can enlighten us to that temp..
