Default Help Car keeps blowing pump fuses

Ok the car is a 98 Z. It has a walboro 255. I had the problem with the hose poping off the pump last week. I fixed it and it ran fine for like 3 days untill last night when the car shut down. I thought it was the same problem but it wasnt. I couldnt hear the pump prime so I checked the fuses and the fuel pump fuse was blown. I replaced it and as soon as I would turn the key to the run position it would blow the fuse. Any ideas, common problems/pinch points for the wiring.

Is the fuse the right size? (Had to ask)

Can you get the current draw from the pump in the manual?

Hey james, yep its the right size well its been the same fuse for the two years Ive had the car so it should be. Most of that time I have had the walboro pump. What do you mean current draw. Like how many amps the pump should be drawing. Sorry not real good with electrical stuff.

Exactly what I was going to suggest... Reminds me of a story, had a customer with a grand marquis... kept blowing the FP fuse.. so he kept upping the amperage of the fuse.. he finally burned the harness so badly that we had to make repairs from the tank through the trunk and into the back seat.. glad he didn't catch it on fire.. circuts are rated for a reason...

Anyway found the + feed to the pump was chaffed on the sending unit causing a short... he could have had bigger problems if he didn't bring it in..
