on a stainless steel threaded insert tapped into an aluminum TB...

dont use any loctite.use anti-sieze

have used it before on different applications...unless there are different types of anti-seize...it's messy and could possibly end-up in my intake I would think... and has no holding strength to prevent backing out of the insert either...

no there is only one type of anti-sieze.The likelyness of the steel bolt backing out of aluminum is slim to none.without anti-sieze the threads will get screwed up on the aluminum when the aluminum gets hot. Unlees your gobbing the anti-sieze onto the threads i wouldnt be concerned with it getting into the intake.

ummm.. hes not talking about a bolt. Hes talking about a threaded insert, like a rethread. Id use red.

I contacted Loctite tech and was told to use #271 w/ #7496 Primer.
Picked it up at McMaster-Carr this afternoon.

There’s TONS of different types of anti-sieze. Most common ones are the aluminum, copper and ceramic based…

If you’re trying to make a threaded insert pretty much permanent in an aluminum casting I usually use a little JB weld on the threads.
