Default Fuel saving ideas

With rising gas prices, I'm still not ready to give up my '99 WS6. I have modified the exhaust and have done some air/fuel mods. Any ideas on add-ons or money saving tips for gas mileage? Anyone have any opinions on the Fitch Fuel Catalyst, turbonator, 89 octane vs. 93 octane? How about gas line coolers? What about gas tank insulators to keep the heat out?

I would recommend shifting at lower rpm's, or buying an economy car as a DD.

i noticed a difference when I would roll up to a stop...like when a stoplight is red...it will change green so why not just slow down and keep your speed up and avoid a complete stop. Also slowing down on the interstate by 5 mph. I got 4 mpg better, but I guess that was with a cavalier??

Buy a cheaper daily driver. Save the WS6 for special days and you'll appreciate it more when you do take it out on weekends. ~Joshua

When i bought my car it had a tornado fuel saver in there. I ran about 6 or 7 tanks of gas through it and took it out, im on my 3rd tank without it and have seen no difference in gas mileage. So i wouldnt try one of any of those "fuel saver" pieces, they dont work. And 93/91 octane gas is the only thing we should be running in our LS1's so dont go run anything less in it.

I bought a $900 honda that has never gotten less than 31mpg. Normally gets 34-36 mpg. Definetly worth the money, and i definetly take better car of my f-body and appreciate it more.

I think this is a great idea. I car pool so I don't have to drive as much. This helps big time.

I heard that if you put more air into the tires then needed that helps a bit. I usually do 37-38 psi instead of normal 35 and that helps a bit (not with traction though ). But I feel your pain I just bought a car and i get 13mpg city and highway. And all those promises about more mpg with new exhaust and intake is all crap.
