Seafoam is good stuff.

You can also run it through a vacuum line (like the brake booster) to clean the top end of the motor out. Running it through the gas tank mostly cleans the fuel system and injectors.

Just pour it slowly down the brake booster line with a funnel, the motor will stumble and then start blowing dirty smoke out the exhaust. Cleans it out very nicely.

Do it once a month..I do..first time i did it I used 3 cans through the brake booster line...after every can was empty id turn the car off for 5 min..start it back up..and nasty smoke would be pouring out of the exhuast..so i did it again...right after..turned it back on..drove it for about 20 min..smoke comin out everywhere and by the third can the smoke only lasted a few min..and went away and the car ran MINTTT afterwords. I even had a can in the gas tank..so I guess 4. And when just once a month i put 1/2 in the tank and 1/2 in the booster line and it never smoked like the first time.

i used 3 cans. 1 in the tank, 1/2 can in the oil, and the other half in the brake booster line and the spray can for the IM. first 2/3 i poured in slow then the last 1/3 i dumped in it and stalled the engine and let it sit for 20 min. i sprayed the intake manifold with 1/2 the can of seafoam deep creep during that time. i started it and hotboxed my street i took the oil out today after 100 miles and it was mud! 1900 miles on it, the seafoam had chunks of **** in it from old old oil in the block.

How do you do it in the brake booster line? Where is that? Where could I but this stuff? And how much should I use? Car has 145,000 miles and was wanting to do this. Thanks

1. Pull the rubber vacuum line off of the brake booster. Start the engine (it will run rough) and slowly feed the seafoam into the line using a funnel. Use anywhere from 1/2 a can to a whole can, depending on how dirty the exhaust comes out. If it comes out black, keep adding seafoam.

2. The brake booster is located on the firewall, on the drivers side of the car. Its round, black, and made of metal. The vacuum line runsto it from the back of the intake manifold. In order to get the line off, squeeze the metal clip with pliers, slide the clip backwards, and pull the line off the plastic fitting. Be careful not to pull too hard on the plastic fitting, it isn't that strong.

3. You can buy it at any Auto parts store. Advance Auto, Napa, Autozone, ect.

4. I'd use anywhere from 1/2 a can to a full can into the brake booster line. Whatever is left over, just dump it into the gas tank.

Seafoam in the spray isn't the best thing for cleaning the intake manifold, because it sprays out of the aerosol can as a weak liquid stream instead of a powerful spray.

I used Valvoline Synpower Throttle Body, Intake, & Carb cleaner, and it worked awesome. Many dealerships also use it for cleaning engine intake parts, so you know it has to be pretty good stuff.

Default pinging after seafoam

I used the seafoam in my 1991 k1500 truck(5.7 tbi motor) it. Funny thing is my truck barely smoked. It smoked lightly while i was pouring the seafoam in,and it smoked a little after it sat for about a half hour. BUt when I drove it,nothin,I mean nothing out the tailpipes! That was about a moth ago. After about a week,it developed a part-throttle ping, and has continued to due so. Other than that, the truck runs fineIt has 159k on it,blows no smoke ever, only a couple small leaks. Is there any way that the seafoam cooiuld cause this? BTW- truck has new cap/rotor,plugs,wires,fuel filter, iac motor.

Did you change the oil? After I added some in my van, I noticed more of a ping, but when I changed the oil it went away.

This **** was fun, I got pulled over driving off base because I was "smoking everybody out" as the officer put it. It was good for a laugh.

Throttle response seems improved, but it's probably in my head. It definitely smoked it's *** off.
