Say if we wanted the drill/retap our 3/8 npt rails to a straight -8an, what thread would that be? 3/4-16 sae. I'm also a little confused about an thread. Can someone clarify? I know it stands for army/navy.

Its more than just a thread, A/N also includes a chamfer for the o-ring. You can puchase a tool that will drill, spotface and machine the chamfer but they're fairly expensive. Much more than the cost of a couple sets of rails.

Do you feel that the 3/8" pipe thread will limit you for 4 cylinders?

If you get a chance look inside the injector opening of a stock rail sometime. Factory rails will support over 700hp without modification. If you look inside the injector opening you will see what point I'm making.

I just thought it would be easier to just run -8 for the whole system after my Y-Block.

But the -6an rails seem to be what most High power guys use.

I use the larger Mustang 5.0 rails. Aeromotives to be exact. They are a true -8an and I had to make mounting blocks for them to fit my intake. Not hard but if you arent any sort of fabricator dont bother.

Our rails with a 3/8"-8an is the same size and has seen 2150HP so I do not think anyone would run out anytime soon. Also -6 will supply over 800rwhp.

Speed Density-
Just get a new set of Vic E rails. They're set up to fit exactly and the injector spacing is correct for your already set up manifold.
Those rails have a 9/16" i.d.... More than plenty to feed whatever your building.
If you're running -8an from the tank to the rails, you should have the rails plumbed in parallel with y-blocks. You can feed each rail with either -8an or -6an adapters from summit.
I personally fed each of my rails with -8an and plumbed -6an from the outlet of each rail to the pressure regulator.

Like Nate said, a -6an feed into each rail (coming from Y-block) will support 800rwhp forced induction style. So if your N/A or N20, they will support even more.

I mentioned a single -6 will feed about 800rwhp. I run 2 Yed to the rails for our 1200hp setups.
