Default How hard to swap in-tank fuel pumps?

I'm getting ready to step up my fuel pump, and I just wanna know what and if I'm gonna run into anything along the way. Is it fairly simple? How long does it take? Anything in particualr I should look out for? Any tips or tricks to make the R&R easier? And also, I've heard a rumor of there being a restriction in the fuel line, and that you could drill it out, just like the master cylinder mod. Is this true? And if so, are there any websites, or does anyone have any info regarding this mod? Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you have an aftermarket catback it's easy. Undo catback form over axle pipe....drop heat shield and one side of a "bar"...maybe its called panhard...3-15mm bolts...undo 10mm bolt that holds filler tube....its hidden unde the plastic wheel well cover...undo 2 15mm bolts for tank straps and down she comes...not all the way out but enuff to pull the pump out. 1st time will probably take you 1 hour to have it out. Now i do it in 20-30 minutes

Anyone else? Anything to really watch out for? What about the restriction?

I'm installing a new Walbro 340 soon and need info! Can this be done in the driveway with a floor jack?

TIA

I do mine with a floor jack in the driveway. I'm not aware of a restriction.

I took the easy way. I pulled the carpet up in the back above the tank and cut a hole above the fuel pump. I made a patch out of sheetmetal that was about 1" bigger than the hole and used RTV to seal it and sheetmetal screws to fasten it down. It only took a couple of hours and now I have an access panel for easy acces to the fuel pump.
