Fuel Problem? Cutting out past 5K. help

Fuel Problem? Cutting out past 5K. help I guess this is the right section, if not, feel free to move. Pretty much lately my car runs great around town, even when driven rough. But when going WOT, car seems to not want to go past 5K-ish, not violent or "choppy" like fuel cut, but it just won't go past it, and my SES light comes on (still drives fine after). After about 10 minutes, the SES light goes off, still drives fine. I asked around and people said it was probably my fuel filter, so I changed that today, and no luck. Since it idles fine and drives fine, I figured it was ok to rule out plugs and wires. I don't want to break the bank fixing this, so do you guys have any experience or ideas on what this could be? I actually have a 255 Walbro sitting in my room, but i doubt it's the fuel pump. I'd hate to have the 12 second TA not running to its full potential (136K miles

I saw a set of bad plugs and wires in my buddies 98 Z that idle and drove fine but as soon as you stompted on it it fell on it's face. Pulled the plugs and the electrodes were basicly gone. New plugs and it drove like new. I thought it was fuel related at first too. But I would check fuel preasure and pull a plug or too out. also scanning the code would be good too.

i had the same problem on my 01 WS6, at WOT it would run sluggish and the SES light would start blinking. I had a friend put a fuel pressure gauge at the fuel rail's schrader valve and surely it was the fuel pump. I thought my spark plugs and wires were bad, my injectors, coil packs he checked all that before with the hypertune and everything was fine til he checked the fuel pressure. Check your fuel pressure i bet your fuel pump is getting worn out.
