Default Fuel Pressure ??????

Ok, I have a 2002 Camaro Z28 with stock fuel system. I think somehting is happening to my fuel pressure, It use to be at about 55-60 PSI and now it has dropped to about 45-50 PSI and this is at idle. I have changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel lines for pinched spots. the only other thing that I have on the fuel rail is a T fitings for my nitrous and the Fuel Pressure Gauge. The car still runs fine though no problems at all even when spraying it.

What could be causeing the Fuel Pressure drop?????

You saying "the car still runs fine...even when spraying it"...are you verifying that with a wideband O2 sensor? Seeing a pressure drop at idle is NOT something I'd consider normal or tolerable, especially on a setup where your fuel pressure REALLY matters (nitrous). My guess would be your fuel pump going south. That's just a shot in the dark though...I wouldn't spray it again until I had it figured out.

what gauge are you using to measure it and where/how are you measuring it?

I have personally had 2 autometer fuel pressure gauges crap out on me. i sent them back to them , they sent me a new one and problem solved.

Yes , it is a Autometer gauge and When i say it runs fine I mean It doese't spit and sputter at all. And No it has 41000 miles on it. No wideband either.

Do you think it is just the gauge?

Without a wideband, it is hard to tell...could be the gauge though. I just wouldn't bet my motor on it if ya know what I mean...

i would bet its the gauge. Caleb at fastlane motorsports was wondering what the hell i was doing to the gauges...i went through 3 of them total; and it was the gauge itself, not the sending unit as we applied air pressure to it and it read fine

depending on when you bought your gauge...if you send it back and then send you another one, you may notice that the sender unit is a little different
