Default Car is not starting...

The car threw a P0336 code, so I replaced the crank position sensor and now it stilll won't start. It seems like its turning over faster than normal. ??? The fuel pump is "humming" when I turn the key, but unless the fuel press. guage just all of the sudden took a dump then it's not showing any pressure when I turn the key on. I have the Racetronix kit, everything seemed to be fine until the car threw the P0336 code.

Hmm. Do you have headers? Could the wire to the crank position sensor be melted onto the headers?

Yes I have headers, no it's not melted. The car actually was running last night but very poorly. It threw the P0336 code and I logged on here and searched on the code, the car was acting in a manner just as others had described in my search. So I replaced the cps and then now it won't start at all.

Does anyone have any idea why my fuel pump is "humming" but the guage isn't showing any pressure? The car turns over but it's not getting any fuel to the motor. Would the pump buzz if it were bad?

Does the car have to run to do that? Because that isn't happening.

Push in the schrader valve and see if fuel squirts out the rail.

The schrader valve is out due to the wet kit. I did loosen the fuel line off of the fuel rail and only got a few drops of gasoline. I then loosened the fuel filter and got some fuel out of it. I hooked the filter back up to the car and then tried to start it to see if any fuel was getting to the filter. The car still did not start but when I loosened the filter again I got hosed down with gasoline. I'm off to buy a new filter to see if it does any good.

Well I had my mechanic check my fuel pressure at the fuel rail. It was reading 60psi when first turning the key on and after the pump got done "buzzing" it dropped to 52psi. He then put a diagnostic scanner on it and wasn't getting anything. He said he didn't understand...we were getting fuel and he said there was spark going to the wire. I asked him if he pulled the plugs because I read on here that someone had there crank position sensor go out and they had to replace the plugs before it would fire. Sure enough, we pulled the plugs and they were soaked in gas.

So we swapped the plugs and low and behold the bitch fired.

BTW, the hot wire on my fuel pressure sender had a bad connection. Just so happens that it decided to act up right in the middle of all this, leading me to believe that I was having fueling problems. I'll have to track that down tomorrow.

Pull a plug. They will probably look wet and reak of fuel. Let us know what you find out.
