Default Fuel pump problems with Texas Speed aftermarket pump

yesterday, i took out my stock fuel pump on my 98z and tried replacing it with the Texas Speed and Per. fuel pump. i ran into some problems, though. first, the actual fuel pump looks smaller than the stock one and when i tried putting it in the stock sending unit, it felt like nothing fit. also the wire connectors didn't match up. i also thought it was kinda weird that it says on the box that it is an aftermarket fuel pump for '82-02 f bodies. over 20 years i figure their have been a lot changes on the fuel system. any ideas?

Look at the sticky at the top of the page. What you have is the Walbro pump. Takes a little time to modify to get it to fit(thats why they are so cheap) but they work out great.

The pump works great you just have to install it correctly.
