Default V6 to V8 quick question

Just a quick question for you guys. When I do my V6 to LS1 swap in my '01 Camaro, will the LS1 fuel pump go into a V6 tank or will I have to replace the tank too?

I thought so but I wasn't positive so I wanted to check. I'm not doing the swap yet but I'm gathering parts that I'll be needing.

Ok so can I ask a question of both of you since your in the process too?

I have a 1993 Camaro v-6

I already have a 2004 5.3L Suburban, PCM, Harness, 4l60E, LT1 1997 subframe.

To my understanding to get the powertrain in it needs the V-8 subframe is this correct?

You should only have to change the actual motor mounts if going from a V6 to a V8. The sub-frame itself should stay the same and you can use the same K-Member. Any other questions, feel free to ask!

heres the deal bud... use the same plastic container your pump is in, ONLY change the pump out to an ls1 pump or a walbro 255. get yourself a set of 97-98 vette fuel rails that have the return line on the rail, this way you can use your v6 fuel lines and just plug em right into the vette rails. this will also get you better fuel rate than the stock ls1 rails do.

Thanks for the reply. Since I originally made this post a couple months ago, I've decided that I'm not even going to do the swap. So I'm going to be selling the car hopefully within the next week and buying an SS.

thats a good choice, im personally dropping an ls1 in my v6. im attached to my car for a few reasons, my paint is in rediculously good shape and its MMM, its got leather seats already, ive done lots of mods including wheels/tires, grill, berger, redline leather console ebrake shifter, macewen gauges, hotchkis springs, and some other crap. but the main reason why im going through this, no matter how many people tell me to sell it and just buy an ls1, my dad and i had planned to put an ls1 in this car but he died in February so im very determined to do this for him and myself. camaro's run in my family since the first year they came out.
