19 lb. injectors maxed out?
Vehicle in sig. Its the wierd poppet valve setup with the injectors in the fuel metering body. Do any of you think I am maxing out my injectors? Also, will bumping up fuel pressure change anything (already at 55psi at idle)
LS1 injectors wont work. I dont have an LS1 engine (I just wish I did) I was just wondering how much I can push these. My truck does run a higher fuel pressure (55-60psi) But I'm not sure if that makes that much of a difference.
Injectors should swap out to any aftermarket. I know whan I swaped out injectors on my 97 GTP I droped the OEM 36LB units for Lucas 42lb units. You should be able to just put bigger injectors in that truck. Ideas? Anyone else.
These are not normal style injectors such as the LS1, Ford SVO and Bosch injectors. They are only used in GM 96-99 trucks etc. They are 19lb units, however they run more fuel pressure. Has anyone heard of people finding aftermarket injectors for my vehicle?
Sup .
I know i don't have an 350 vortec but i have an 4.3L vortec but i have ( had ) the same setup as you with the popped nozzles etc and with 19 lb/hr injectors too . They don't make any bigger lb/hr injectors for us and i have an build 4.3L so i know that i had to change the 19lb/hr realy soon . So i bougth an 350 Ramjet intake manifold and i cut it to in the middle and shorten it to fit my 4.3L so i could use regular LT1 , ls1 or any bosh style injetors . Check this link for my hacked 350 Ramjet intake manifold and all the process : http://www.chitownsyty.com/bg/pics/ramjet/page_01.htm
I am getting 224 RWhp/288rwtq on motor ( stock have around 140-150 rwhp ) and still needs some tuning so i think i will get close to 240-245 rwhp and around 400+ rwhp with 175+ shot with an 2 stage NX nitrous system . So if i were you , why don't you buy an Ramjet intake manifold which should fit without any modification on your vortec heads and put any kind of injectors that you want ? You could even use your MAP sensor on the intake which will fit without any modification . The only modification you would need is with the radiator hose routing , distributor needs and diferent hold down bracket ( i modified the stock one ) and some other small things . The hardest part i think would be is the cold air intake setup and cutting the stock injector harness and find which one goes to which injector etc and some other wires needs to be elongated . So if i could had do it which was alot more dificult then on your truck , you could do it . For tuning you could let fastchip do an tuning for the bigger injectors .
An other way to get more fuel out of your stock inectors would be with an adjustable fuel presure regulator which as you can see is dificult cause the fuel presure regulator sit in the plastic intake cover and it isn't adjustable .
You would get even more power with the ramjet cause the stock 4.3L or 350 intake manifold doesn't flow that well after 4000 rpm and the ramjet is an realy good design and flow alot better then your stock intake and still have some nice torque down low .

wow XtremeLover1999 that was a long post That sounds like a pretty extreme mod. the only thing i could think of rather than something extreme like that would be to try GM Pref. Parts and see fi they make anything. If these injectors are as specialized as you say they are then they would probably be the only ones likely to make anything bigger.
They don't make bigger injectors for our setup . I didn't went with the ramjet intake only so i could use bigger injectors , but i went with it because of the alot better flowing .
