At what power level is a walbro 340 needed?
I plan on doing heads/cam/intake/headers soon and am wondering if I should go ahead and order a Walbro 340 while I'm at it. I know I'll get at least 420rwhp/390rwtq up to maybe 450rwhp/420rwtq. I don't plan on revving past 6500 and I don't want to take any chances. Its only $130 but I'm BROKE! Do I HAVE to have it? Thanks.

At 415/490 on a dry nitrous shot, mine was doing fine. It is nice insurance though.

I sure wouldn't but one for $130! But I would absolutely, with no hesitation, recommend you replace that factory pump at the hp level you're attempting.

yep.....by 450 rwHP, its time to upgrade.
I have 36 lb injectors so I have been able to "fudge" it for a while with the stock fuel pump. I can see on auto tap that as the engine RPM climes (WOT) the car starts to head towards lean (02 readings come down from 0.920 at around 4500 to about 0.890 at 6000). The volume of the injectors is able to make up for the loss of fuel pressure but its not an optimum condition by any means. When I can compile the money, I will upgrade to the Walbro 255 pump.
