Fuel Tank Question non LS1!!! Please help!!! hi guys I know this isn't a LS1 question sorry but i cant get an answer anywhere else. i've got a 1999 Explorer Sport with the 4.0 SOHC. my fuel gauge quit working and i have a clunking noise coming from my gas tank. i just got through removing the gas tank. the clunking noise is coming from a black plastic tray thing inside of the gas tank. also the float is broke off which is why the gauge wont read. what is the purpose of this black tray??? should it be moving around inside the tank???
