Question Can you Siphon drain a LS1 F-Body Fuel Tank?

My rear end is going out and since I'm going to replace it, I'm also going to replace my stock fuel pump with a Racetronix Fuel pump.

I have about 3/4 tank of fuel in the tank now, can I put a small tube down the filler neck to siphon out the fuel to make removing the tank easier?

Reason I ask is because I heard some GM cars have a check valve in the filler neck and will prevent you from siphoning the tank.

Thanks in advance....

Bill

If you know anyone who has a fuel pressure gauge, you can just
connect it to your fuel rail, and run power to the pump (underhood
fuse), it will pump it out for ya. I dont recall if there is a check valve. I've always used my gauge though.

I just took out the schrader valve, put a hose onto the end and hooked power from the battery to the hot side in the relay box to pump it out.

The RX harness can be used to power the pump w/o the car running. Thunder Racing carries a fused test lead which plugs into the booster interface connector. This item is shown as part of the C5 kit here:

I've siphoned my tank. The siphon tube will catch on the metal flapper that seals the filler neck. I didn't get it all out, but enough to lighten it so you can drop it easy.
