So i drove my car this afternoon, was between 1/2 and 3/4 on the fuel gauge. Well i jumped in it about 30 minutes ago, had to turn to the store, and i turn on the key, and needle jumps to empty. I tend to reset the trip everytime i fill up, there's around 90 miles on it so far, so i know its not empy. When i start the car the needle moves all the way full, then back to empty. What would cause it to be reading empty now?
