why not just delete it entirely

Because then I'd have to run a separate line for my return. Why do that when there is already a line there...

i wasnt critsizing (sp) what you did im just asking becasue im replumbing mine with all steel braided and i figured if someone did away with the evap they re plumed the whole system

so you if i was running a feed and a return there would be no need for me to have the evap?

You still want to leave the line from the tank venting to atmosphere, but you can take off everything else if you want. You will also need to have the codes turned off related to the EVAP in the tune.

thats what i figured out yesterday so basicall you just leave the rubber line that goes off of canister to the hard line open ended and let it do its thing but ecm will throw a evap leak code, and i can have that edited in my tune

thanks for all of the help man

I would'nt leave it open ended. Older cars had what you want to do and they used vent caps on the hose ends, so Im sure some kind of vent cap is in order.

vent cap opens up once so much pressure hits it right??

I'm not sure, either that or it just stops fuel from splashing out or spilling out.

Ok I went through 10 google pages and came up with nothing, mostly marine applications. Anyway you could cap it with a solid cap then buy a vented gas cap, or you could leave it un capped, my el camino was just venting into the engine bay for several years still I'm going to cap it once im done with the ls1 swap.

im still leaving the charcoal canister on the tank and all the wiring im just eliminating the line from it to the engine bay, fuel doesnt get into the canister, so really there isnt a need for a vent cap then.

well my plan was just to leave the line that comes out of the cannister and plugs into the line you used for a return and just route it somewhere it can breath and use it as the vent.

that way the system can still do its job it just doesnt dump the fumes into the engine it just releases it under the car.
