Default 98 Fuel Pressure Regulator Location...Help

Hey guys I am on my friends name right now and I was wondering if you have a picture of the fuel pump assembly...My friend and his dad recenlty installed a walbro 255L fuel pump. Well when he installed it he removed the return lines inside the assembly. Now the only time he has fuel pressure in the rails is when the car is turned to the on position and then it immediately drops pressure to 0. I have been reading that the pressure regulator is part of the return lines. So if someone could just post a picture or help out, since i searched and couldnt find anything too concrete to answer my question.

Thanks,

Dan

yeah the stock pump setup self regulates that why they only run one line to the engine. So if you took it all apart and just put a pump in, you could of messed up the regulator part. should look into a aftermarket reg.

Are you talking about an f-body setup? If so, the regulator is inside the bucket. Here is a picture of the stock regulator removed:

Several more pictures of how I ran my setup here:

The '98 is not like the picture above..... that is a '99 up sending unit.

The '98 regulator is attached to the return line in the tank by a flex hose.... the pump does not self regulate the pressure.

I would check for leaks at either hose in the tank.... or..... you used a '99 up pump that has an extra port on top of the pump. This will bleed off pressure as soon as you turn off the key.

Yeah the site we ordered the pump off of said it was a 98 Camaro 255l walbro pump, even though i did tell him to go with the racetronix kit, and it seems like we got the generic pump....I found this out after i told him call Matt at TTP and Matt said he will fix it for him on monday.

Thanks for the info

-Dan
