Default ? about stock fuel system

i was wondering if 98 + f body fuel system under rate the hp if it gets to low on gas. my friend has a t/a that i borrowed last week and it seems like when its under a 1/4 of a tank that it doesn't pull as hard, it wont spin in second and the power takes longer to kick it(it a a4 car) also doesn't accelerate as fast.

I remember someone else complaining that their car didn't run as well with low fuel, but I don't see why unless it was sucking up air and the fuel pressure was falling off.

It couldn't be from anything else. The PCM didn't cause it as it dosn't reduce power when the fuel gets low.

I know if you had a wideband on the car, you'd start to go lean as you're low on gas. Lean enough, and you'll start to get knock and timing retard.

So you are running open loop? What tuning software was used to do this?

Could be the fuel pump getting hot if there is not enough fuel to cool it.

Then you don't have wideband O2 sensors in the front sensor locations...they are narrowband. The PCM can't accept anything more than a narrowband O2 sensor...
