Blame the tuner, or the injectors are way toooooo damn big.

You can't lower it unless you have a full aftermarket system... and if you did, you wouldn't be asking. Kind of hard to blame the tune without having any idea what is going on. Flashing SES means it is currently misfiring; you can't expect it to run well or idle well like that.

ok... scannned the car this afternoon again just to find out that number 6cyl is still missing even after replacing the coil... so i replace the sparkpulg and plugwire... still missing.. do the same to number 5cyl... still missing... swap the injector from cyl6 to cyl2 to see if number 2 is missing... still number 6.... ANY IDEAS ON WHAT IS GOIN ON...

I'm still thinking that the tune is bad.

The injectors are too big for what you have. You need the right sized injector for the mods you are running. Then and only then will you be able to have you car run correctly.

42lb injectors are just too much. I would say you need to step down slightly to some 36 lb injectors. If you are interested, I actually have a set of very low mileage 36 lb SVO injectors I am selling for cheep. Even if you are not interested, you still need to get some smaller fuel injectors.

Wow, how convenient... you just happen to have a set...

They are NOT too big. Those injectors can be made to run exactly like stock, even on a stock car, leaving plenty of room for growth in the future. They are very ease to tune.

Besides the fact I have a size that is ideal for his setup, they are too large. You can have too big of an injector size, and 42 lbs for a cam/bolt on combo is too much. Thats why he is saying it is running pig rich even with a tune.

So, you're saying that even though he might be wanting to spray a 150 dry shot, he still needs to step down to a smaller injector? That doesn't make any sense. You can run a 36# inj at 90% duty cycle to keep up with the demand for fuel, when he can run a 42# inj at 50%... (those % numbers are completely random BTW) im failing to see how he could have too big of an injector, if the car is tuned for them. If he was trying to swap injectors without getting tuned for it, i can see your point, and if that was the case, 36#'ers would be too big too....

Its also funny because my buddy has a stock internal LS1 with a set of 42# inj for his N20 kit...and his runs fine...

Not knowing enough about the spray, I'm not sure for N20 cars. But for N/A LS1 cars with a cam and bolt ons with a tune 42lb injectors would be too large IMO. Sure you could have an injector run at a 50% duty cycle, and it is true you don't want to run injectors at like 98% duty cycle, but some where in between is where you want them to be. Otherwise why stop at 42 lb injectors? Why not just run 100lb injectors at 10%? You want the injector size to compliment the mods you are at.

Besides turning this guys problem thread for help into a "who's right" or "who's wrong" argument, I say to greyghost4X4 that if his car is running like crap off the spray to try putting the smaller injectors in (off the spray) and see if it runs like. If it runs better than perhaps he should indeed go with the smaller injectors. If it still runs like junk, then the issue is elsewhere.

Is the problem only when using the nitrous? If so he didn't mention that specifically and it does change the issue. It sounds like the issue came when he went with the new tune and injectors for a different setup as he said it runs fine "once the car gets going, and at WOT".

which makes it either some device or cabling in failure or the tune is off. It doesn't mean that his injectors are too big, OR that he should arbitrarily throw some other size set in there which he is likewise not tuned for. This is just poor troubleshooting. I have tuned dozens of setups with these injectors and they work very well.
