Cam and bolt ons, what injector size to use?
Cam and bolt ons, what injector size to use? If an LS1 car (F-body) has a mild cam, with full bolt ons (intake, headers, ORY, catback ect.) and a tune with stock heads, what injector size would be ideal?
Alot of people do get by with the stock 28 lbers found in 98, 01, and 02 cars. A very popular choice for others looking to upgrade, would be the 30 lb SVOs.
If you ever plan to go with a dry hit of juice or something, I would go bigger. I ran 37s in my 225 cam only auto back in the day, and I run 42s with this heads/cam/N2O setup now. It's good to have room to grow if your going to spend the money.

I started this thread to get some more opinions about what injector size should be used on a a bolt on cam only car. I am of the opinion that you can have too large of an injector size (which for this combo I think 42 lb ers are pushing it).
How does the nitrous effect your injector choice. I am guessing it matters what kind of shot between dry and wet you are using?

My current car, at 446/411, runs perfect with the 42s. I went with the larger injector because of my dry hit of juice. The extra fuel is added through the injectors with a dry kit, and you need enough injector, and pump, to supply a sufficient amount.
It's all in the tuning when it comes to running a larger injector than stock. If your not gonna need 42s, then don't get them. But it's not gonna hurt anything to run a bit larger than needed injector to leave room to "grow", as long as it's tuned properly.
Wet nitrous setups don't rely on the injectors at all, they use a separate solenoid to add the fuel. Choose your injector based on N/A requirements in this case.
My cam only a4 car only layed down 363 through the verter, it ran high 11s. The 37 lbers were easily tuned and the car didn't suffer having these injectors in there vs the smaller 28.8s.

The OP in the other thread has the bigger injectors for the N20....NA he is fine with stockers, but on the spray he will run out of fuel.
