fuel pressure question

fuel pressure question hi guys.ran my 75 shot yesterday and 1 time it felt like it worked good and the 2nd time it felt like it was surging. put a pressure guage on the rail and had 38lbs at idle.i think the fpss was doing this due to being set at 35lbs.what is normal pressure for a stock pump.going to check the filter also.any suggestions is appreciated.thanks
Stock fuel pressure is 58psi. It doubtfull the probelm is with your filter because there is very little fuel flow through the filter at idle, if it was plugged up enough to effect it that much at idle it would never get enough fuel to drive. Probably a pressure regulator issue.
