fuel pump humming all the time

fuel pump humming all the time the fuel pump on my 98Z28 is humming all the time now, so i am assuming it is going bad. the car is completely stock so i am not looking to upgrade. any suggestions on what brand and where to go to get a replacement. checked a couple of part stores online catalog and they didn't carry one. and also, how hard is it to change a fuel pump?
Re: fuel pump humming all the time Fuel pumps do usually have a humming noise from them. I would not cut a hole in your trunk to yank out a fuel pump!!! Drop the tank and replace it if you want but dont go hackin away at your car. My fuel pump humm's,buzz's and it's fine. With every Chevy i have seen you can hear the fuel pump working, I would make sure the pump is going to crap first before you go and replace it.

Re: fuel pump humming all the time you could always hear the pump humming, it was just alot louder the other day. you could actually here it while driving. today when i drove the car it sounded normal, could here the pump right at start up but then went away so i'm not worried about it. didn't really want to cut up my car anyway. thanks

Re: fuel pump humming all the time I wouldnt suggest cutting a hole in your car. Its not that hard to drop the tank. I also wouldnt suggest changing the pump until you see an actual problem, not just a little extra hum.
