Default Bulkhead Fitting Placement in Plastic C6 Tank

I am currently peicing together a fuel system for my vette. Has anybody on this forum had any success in drilling the tank and installing a bulkhead fitting in order to run an external fuel pump (without sumping the tank)? If so, where was the bulkhead fitting installed in the tank? and I'd like to run a -10 from the tank to the pump, and then a -8 to feed the fuel rail (which will split off into -6 for each rail).

I had horrible luck doing this on my 2001 fbod plastic tank. It was plagued with leaks, I tried many different sealers. They all held for a few weeks to a couple of months then started leaking. The tank is now an ornament in my garage.

I have a plug & play setup that fits your car with no cutting of tank or factory wiring.

Do you have any pics of this unit? Can't seem to find them on your site. Thanks.

Those are -6an fittings. I have drilled and installed a bulkhead in my C5. If the C5 is like the C5 tank, the back face should be fairly flat. It is important to make sure the fitting is on a flat surface. Secondly to NOT use a hand drill to drill the tank. Use a drill press because the hole needs to be purpendicual( sp? ) to the flat surface of the tank. If you do these things you should not have any problems and/or leaks.

Thanks - which bulkhead did you use (brand and size)?

Do you have any pictures of this setup?

There is no reason to change the fitting sizes unless you are well above 1000rwhp. The stock connections have worked fine in all the ones I have built.

Like Lonnie said unless you are planning over 1000rwhp I would not drill the tank.

Is it possible to mount a Bosch 420 pump inside the tank utilizing the stock sending unit? I then could use a bulkhead fitting at the top of the plastic sending unit and run a -8 line to the fuel rail with a return.

The opening of the tank is really small I do not think a 420 would fit. We have a Dual Walbro setup that would be more fuel than 1 420 could provide anyway.
