Default Suggestions for a new fuel pump

Hey guys, I'm installing an 98 LS1 into my 1980 Jeep this weekend, and am in need of a fuel delivery system. For right now, I'm just trying to keep this as simple as possible. I know the correct and expensive way of setting up a fuel system, but I want suggestions on the cheap way to do it.

What I'm looking for: I'm looking to keep my stock in tank pump from the Jeep and add an external inline pump, and tap an inlet on the tank for a return line from the fuel rail / regulator.

Let me know if you need anymore info, I'm still learning so I probably left out some details. Thanks.

The walbro inline is cheap and easy.

How big are the fuel lines in the jeep?

Not sure of the size in the Jeep, I will check on that tomorrow morning. I did some research at the parts store today... Looks like the C6 and C5 both had the same fuel pumps, and the Birds had a smaller one. I don't think any of them will work just because of their size / shape, but I'm not counting them out.

Jantzer, would I need the 255 from them? I'm not ready for a sump and a block off plate for my stock pump, so I don't think the 255 would be needed. Could you give me a link to one by chance?

Greg, I've been looking into Racetronix quite a bit. I think I might buy one from them, but first would like to call them just to see how their customer service is.

I have a new Racetronix intank pump if you want to go that route. It's a 255 walbro nicely encased with billet aluminum.

I just thought you were using your stock fuel pump and didn't want to mess with the tank. Go with an inline 255 walbro and you're done.

Well, After more research I'm again undecided. I first of all need to make sure the intank setup will fit inside my tank from the Jeep, and also have to figure out lots of plumbing.

Do I need a regulator if I use an intank pump?
