Starting turbo setup on ls1 rx7
Starting turbo setup on ls1 rx7 I'm starting to mock up the fitment of a turbo setup on my 88 tii ls1 rx7. I plan to run a t76 turbo on the passenger side
I would like to use oem manifolds. I have fitted up a truck manifold on the drivers side and plan to run a crossover pipe under the crank pulley heading toward the passenger side . It looks as though I will have to grind one of the bolt mounts on the alternator to get it to fit properly.
Do you guys think I will be able use heatshields, heat wrap and/or coating to prevent the alternator from overheating?

I did search. I was under the impression the main reason the alternator is relocated is due to fitment of the plumbing on the camaro with truck manifold. fitment is not my concern on the rx7.
