You are going to have to make it a return system and run some new lines. The factory regulator is in the fuel tank. You need one up front by the rails and run a return line back tot he tank.

I'd go with a return system, it's a no-brainer solution. What's your issue with not getting the fuel right?

Hes got two in tank racetronix pumps, stock rails, 36lb injectors, and stock lines. Before the dual pump setup he had one in tank racetronix, and a nitro daves dual plate setup. When the 2nd stage would hit the fuel pressure would drop to low 50's causing mean lean spikes. Now with the two intanks the pressure will stay around 68psi or so just idling so its needs to come down.

I'm no expert, but I'd say it's way past time to dump the demand type system and get a pair of after market rails and put a regulator up front. There are economical ways to do this - such as keeping the stock feed as a return.

He's got a set of FAST rails that havent been installed yet. Thats the problem, where can he find a regulator for the FAST rails?

Fuel rails are fuel rails, fuel pressure regulators are fuel pressure regulators. Any return-type FPR will work (NOT the block off variety). I'm using a Weldon regulator for my setup, they aren't cheap but a lot of people swear by them. There are many combinations that would work for him, depending on how much money he wants to spend.

A fairly common setup for someone doing a project like his is this:

-8AN from pump(s) (through a bulkhead fitting in the top of the pump assembly) to fuel filter.
-8AN from fuel filter to front of driver's side fuel rail.
-8AN cross over from rear of driver's side fuel rail to rear of passenger's side fuel rail.
FPR fitted onto the front of the passenger's side fuel rail.
-8AN from FPR to stock feed line for return to the tank.

Now all you have to do is install a fuel pressure gauge on the FPR, and turn a screw to set your pressure. No more demand-type related fuel issues. Should be solid, assuming no drips or he doesn't use up the capacity of the system, of course.

I suggest you find a good hydraulic hose ship in your town - they can help with the various fittings (and can make stainless Teflon braided lines for you ). You may well have to deal with AN type, pipe thread, and o-ringed AN style fittings. You can also order many fittings from the various sponsors - they'll be glad to help you.

Remember, that's just a cheaper way to do it. There are other combinations that may work better if he steps up to higher power levels later. Here's my setup:

Aluminum tank w/ sump -8AN to pre-filter.
Pre-filter into Weldon pump.
Weldon pump into post-filter.
Post filter -8AN to Y-style fitting (split).
-8AN to both fuel rails (from split).
-8AN out of fuel rails into both sides of the FPR (merge).
-8AN from FPR to tank.

Good luck.
