ls1 fuel pressure regulator

A fairly common setup for someone doing a project like his is this:
-8AN from pump(s) (through a bulkhead fitting in the top of the pump assembly) to fuel filter.
-8AN from fuel filter to front of driver's side fuel rail.
-8AN cross over from rear of driver's side fuel rail to rear of passenger's side fuel rail.
FPR fitted onto the front of the passenger's side fuel rail.
-8AN from FPR to stock feed line for return to the tank.
Now all you have to do is install a fuel pressure gauge on the FPR, and turn a screw to set your pressure. No more demand-type related fuel issues. Should be solid, assuming no drips or he doesn't use up the capacity of the system, of course.
I suggest you find a good hydraulic hose ship in your town - they can help with the various fittings (and can make stainless Teflon braided lines for you
). You may well have to deal with AN type, pipe thread, and o-ringed AN style fittings. You can also order many fittings from the various sponsors - they'll be glad to help you.Remember, that's just a cheaper way to do it. There are other combinations that may work better if he steps up to higher power levels later. Here's my setup:
Aluminum tank w/ sump -8AN to pre-filter.
Pre-filter into Weldon pump.
Weldon pump into post-filter.
Post filter -8AN to Y-style fitting (split).
-8AN to both fuel rails (from split).
-8AN out of fuel rails into both sides of the FPR (merge).
-8AN from FPR to tank.
Good luck.
