Default Shortening Fuel Rail Question

Anyone see any problems with shortening the drivers side fuel rail (Edelbrock with 3/8 pipe thread) 7/8ths of an inch? this puts the fuel in closer to number 8 cylinder, but can't think of any issues this may cause? On the C5 Vettes the drivers side cowl is much closer than the passenger and not enough room to get any pipe thread fitting into, so it's either cut a hole (last choice) in the firewall or cut down the fuel rail. There is a Banjo x o-ring 90* fitting, but because of the 3/8 inch pipe thread this tight space fitting won't work. Any insight out there? Thanks
Robert

Edit: After looking at the rail with the injector in place, where the angled hole enters the rail chamber, looks as though we could only cut about 3/8ths of an inch off, and maybe, just maybe ½ inch, damn, need a fix.

Robert,
I purchased some Professional Product fuel rails for my Z06 and had the same problem. The drivers side rail is too long and hits the firewall. I called PP and they recommended milling the end down 1/2" to clear the firewall. I didn't do that, but don't think it would be an issue with NPT fittings.

I looked again and it's 3/8ths pipe thread. yea, I'll just hack off about ½inch with a band saw and re-tap. One of the guys at the vetteforum sells a rail kit with fittings and crossover hose that fits with no mods, for about $165, not a bad deal, but already have these... Thanks
Robert

Edit: Were your rails 1/2 or 3/8ths pipe thread?

if all your talking about is moving the fitting closer to the inj for clearence its fine, its a commonly regulated plenum should be no difference if your reg is good

yea, that's what I figured, but didn't know if there might have been unforeseen issue being just about on top of the injector hole. One 1/2 inch is gone and it's tapped now and new fitting in place.
