It's a souped up A1000 I belive. If it went out from driving it 3.5 hours, it was on it's way out the door anyway. You should be totally fine.

Your alternator will have a voltage controller on it, so it's only going to see 13.5v, which it's rated at.

It should have an aeromotive controller on it, if so it should be fine. I got a1000 to install but it doesn't need the controller. From what I've read allot of people who have them really think high of them but its the installation that matter with these pumps. They need head pressure from the tank not to starve them of fuel and overheat. In your case it would be more of an issue but with the aftermarket controller it should be ok. If not install a fuel cooler and/or make sure that the installation was proper too.

Thats a mean pump and I might have to step up to it since my A1000 might not be able to do the job. Another thing I like about them is they are submersible. I got a custom sumped tank that its installed inside to aid in the cooling. Very nice setup but its not from a sponsor. Good luck, that car must be a monster with that pump on it.

They run at full speed and make a lot of noise but it will not wear out on your 3 hr. drive. You should install a controller on it if it is going to be a daily driver.
