Long live my fuel pump!
The car (and the pump) has 215,000 miles on it. I bought a fuel pressure gauge when it was at 200k, and it read 58 psi constantly (idleing and reving).
I checked it about a week ago and it read 55 psi on the same gauge. I didn't think much of it at the time (I was chasing a misfire problem and found it elsewhere).
Then I checked it today and it showed 54 psi constantly. So I threw a new fuel filter on just in case, and that didn't change it at all.
The car has not felt like it's as powerful as it should be, and I'm wondering if this is why. Does this mean my pump's going out? Could this little difference actually effect the feel of the car under full throttle?
I'm not upset about getting a new pump, but I do have an issue. I want to upgrade to a better pump (breaking things is the best excuse for an upgrade), but I also need a new fuel level sender. It's been bad for a while, just been waiting for the fuel pump to go.
From what I understand, I cannot buy the fuel level sender by itself, and it's not included in any aftermarket pump kit that I know of. What the best course of action to fix it? I have access to a used sender from a 98 TA and one from a 95 Z28 if either of these would work.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Tryed search and couldn't find any threads relating to this small of a difference in fuel pressure.
It's a 255lph pump. PM me if interested.
Sharpe: Pressure is supposed to be at 58 psi constantly.
