Default Double priming fuel pump

I have an sts turbo trans am and I have a walbro 255 fuel pump. My car takes about 8 seconds to start if I don't double prime the fuel pump. At first I was fine with it, but now it is annoying. Is there anyway of fixing this without getting a new one? I called nastyperformance (where I bought it from) and they said they don't refund walbro items, so I definatly don't want to buy a new one, considering this one is already new....

What's your fuel pressure gauge telling you?

I don't have one, all I bought was a boost gauge and a/f wideband. (which doesn't work either)...

It might just be the line in the tank from the pump to the outlet leaking and letting your cranking prime leak down or a bad check valve in the pump. I would put my money on the line leaking because I had the same problem on my twin intank setup

getting the A/F working, and add a fuel pressure gauge. These are two necessities, if you want to t/s, and/or tune your car.
Without, you are rolling the dice, as to how long it'll stay together.

Stall up has a good suggestion. [A good indicator of the problem he suggests, is instantly falling FP...]

Thanks guys, I will check that out tomorrow. I am getting it tuned/dynoed again tomorrow as well, to make sure my a/f is in check because my wideband doesn't work. When I called walbro they said something about it is probably the check valve being bad, but it is a brand new pump.. Do I get another one at autozone or where?
