Default Quick question about sensor

I tried several searches, but can not find the answer. I am going to install a bulkhead on top of my bucket to run a -8AN feed line, and I'd like to drill a hole and put it right where that sensor is located on top of the bucket. My question is what is that sensor for? It looks like a pressure sensor, and I'm assuming that its for the EVAP system (which I have deleted already) So if that is the case I don't mind removing it. But I just wanted to make sure thats what it is there for...

Well, I unplugged the sensor and got code P0452- which is an EVAP code ('Evaporative Emission Control System Pressure Sensor Low Input' to be exact), so just incase anyone ever searches this, maybe they will find this info useful...

Why didn't you just run a -8AN line straight off of the plastic fittings already there? Or am I just not understanding what you did...

Because the fitting already there is only a -6 size equivalent- it would be a bottleneck Plus, I am going to use it as the new return...

That's what I figured...I'm opting to keep mine for simplicity even at the expense of a bottleneck.

Why even bother then? Just run -6 line... Putting -8 line after a -6 sized bulkhead won't do you any better than running all -6...

The Aeromotive quick connects I'm using have -8 connections...so instead of stepping them back down to -6, I just left them as -8 and ran the line. That's really the only reason. That and the Earl's -8 line I use measures in at 7/16" I.D. and the -6 measures in at 11/32".
