Default fuel systems

At what point will I need to up grade my fuel pump and install a adjustable fuel pressure regulator with respects to HP put out by the engine? I am woundering at what amount of HP will the sock units no longer feed enough fuel to teh engine.

If I remember right, the rails and lines are good for about 550-600 rwhp. Most people already have the Walbro by that time, as I know it wont support a cam only, bolt on car with a 100shot. So I say the pump is the weak link, other than injectors...98/01/02 have 28lbs, and 99/00 have the little 26# not that either are good enough for a bolt on car used for drag racing or other higher rpm operation, but normal driving they are good.

I am going to assume that you are speaking of an adjustable fuel pressure regulator when you are talking about Walbro. If I am going to replace the fuel pump what should I be looking for in an upgrade of the fuel pump, certain specifcations?

Fuel Pump, its an intank. Made by Walbro, model is 340M, 255Lph
