Default 10% Ethanol...

Well all the gas stations here in Miami now have 10 % ethanol. I was going to a place called Dade corners but now they also have 10% ethanol maybe they've had it all along but i saw posted there today for the first time. I went searching around for a good while and every single gas station now has 10% ethanol. What the hell?.....is that going to have an effect on my T/A's performance?

if so...what effects will it have?

Thanks in Advance!!

there is a new law that requires every gas station in the USA to convert to 10% ethanol. all it is, is just a political move. like jetlag was sayin, the mpg will go down a bit, about 3 to 4. but it will be about 6 to 7 cents cheaper, cuz taxes will be slightly less than regular gas. there is a problem. if there is water in the gas tanks at the station, then phase separation can occur. if the gas becomes phase separated and pumped into the car, then it is bad enough where the car wont even be able to leave the station.

its really a pain in the ***. at our station, we had to have all the tanks checked to make sure there was no water in it. all the filters have to be changed also. it wont leave an effect on ur car at all. but be careful of the gas with 85% ethanol. only certain newer cars can use e85.

Welcome to my world. In the mid-west, we have had this garbage forced on us for the last 20 some-odd years. Mileage will go down about 6-8% in my experience. On the plus side, it takes more than a gallon of oil to make a gallon of ethenol. It is heavily subsidized by the gov thanks to the couple of bucks the corn lobyists throw at them. We all pay for it at the pump. Oh...wait, that isn't really a plus.

This really sucks. All the gas stations here have it. Im not sure if the one ive been using all this time has had Ethanol all along but today was the first time i noticed the sticker on the pump. I think this ethanol crap is bull...its not helping anything. That i know of originally it was supposed to replace gasoline and help everything or bring gas prices down by mixing it with gas. it doesnt bring gas prices down enough to justify its presence at the pump. Ethanol is just a nuisance.

Most station up here have 10% ethanol as well. I only noticed about 1 MPG decrease when using it.
