Default Voltage spike at WOT question......

My car is basically stock right now but the previous owner had a nitrous kit on the car. It has a Walbro 255 in-tank pump and a second 255 in-line pump which is hooked to a Capers V-Plus volt booster...this one.

At WOT around 5500 rpm I noticed the interior lights and the headlights got brighter. I did another WOT run and watched the voltage gauge this time and it went from about 14v all the way up to the red zone at 18v.

Is this normal? I thought the V-Plus only provided actual alternator output to the pump (~14v)? Is the alt output regulated by the pcm or internally..or both?

Right now I have the TPS part of the v-plus disconnected and I do not get any voltage spike.

All info welcome.

Default

No it boosts the volts to 18v at high rpm. if you are not using the added fuel you should disconnect that extra pump and booster.
