Default Race Gas?

What is everyone using? Is there anything that won't foul the o2 sensors?

we have a max of 95 at the pump here and its 103 and the track and if you go to the airport you can get 110 but you have to fill up gas cans and tell them its for a plane.

The aircraft fuel is still leaded. It is marked "low lead", but that is not "unleaded". It is not really the stuff you want for a fuel injected vehicle (it still kills O2 sensors).

My understanding of "Jet Fuel" was it was a more highly refined diesel, more like kerosene? Although diesel and kerosene are very close in properties. Keep in mind there are almost as many types of Jet Fuel as there are jet planes, especially in military applications many fuels are specially designed for the application.

I think the gas dude29662 was referring to was regular "Av Gas" for regular piston type engines, as opposed to "Jet" fuel. The "Av Gas" was very popular for a while in dirt bike circles because it's high octane, readily available, and relatively cheap. But Av Gas lacks some of the properties that ordinary gas has, and often causes more problems than it's worth, or so I've heard. Something with the additives I believe but I'm not entirely clear on the subject.

You guys need to check how the octane ratings are done.

"Jet Fuel", if I am not mistaking, uses a different rating system. Keep in mind this fuel is for high altitude low oxygen environment i.e. high altitude. If I am correct 104 oct jet-fuel is something close to 93-94 oct automobile fuel.

You best bet is just to buy race gas that is sold at the track.
