Racetronics Install Instructions
Anyone know where else to get install instructions for these pump kits?
Did a search, not much there for a C5

But, The point is.... What is the big friggin mystery as to the secrecy of giving out damn instructions for a potentially dangerus install and getting no damn reply from the company that sells this stuff??
And I also have a couple of questons like instead of running the power supply all the way up to the alternator can I take it from the battery which is in the rear and closer? Or from my Batt disconect switch that is also in the back end of the car.
2) Remove the nut off of the alternator
3) Remove the D.S rear wheel
4) Remove the inner fender (7mm)
5) Remove the 10mm bolts off of the tank shield
6) Remove a few of the front 13mm bolts out of the tank shield.
7) Gently pry the tank shield down about an inch or so. Just so that you have total access.
8) Take the hearness and fish it through your tunnel, above the heat shield, towards the motor. ( Or you can remove it, and wire tie the wires)
9) Fish the connector along the firewall, and route it towards the alternator.
10) Remove the 10mm lower windshield washer tank nut.
11) Install the fuse holder on that stud, and re-install the the nut.
12) Install the jumper wire onto the alternator stud (along with the OEM wire)
13)Route the harness over to the fuel pump.
14) Disconnect the fuel pump connectors, and plug in the Racetronix plugs into the pump.
15) Ground the plug ground to the chassis.
16) Mount the relay and ground in a convenient spot out of the way. Make sure the ground is to the chassis.
17) Zip tie anything that is loose, and button everything up.
18) Re-install the battery cable.
These are NOT the exact instructions. I've just installed soooo many of them, its engrained in my mind.
No, I wouldnt wire it to the battery. Theres to many voltage fluctuations. Your alternator is the BEST possible source.
Hope this helps..
BTW, this is for a C5 corvette..
One last thing. IF by chance your pump does not run, make sure you check the fuse holder that is bolted at the windshield washer tank. Thats the one that blows. It doesnt look like a fuse holder, but it is.
