Default Hobbs switch with a manual override....

I am in the process of wiring a hobbs switch and 2nd fuel pump in the tank.
I am thinking about putting a toggle switch to manually turn the pump on.
I am not sure how to wire it tho, this is what i was thinking...

The hobbs switch will be wired to +12v under the hood. The output of the hobbs switch is going to a relay (Pin 85).
Can i just wire a simple SPST switch to +12v and bridge the output to the same input on the relay that the hobbs is connected to (The same pin 85)???
The one thing i am not sure of, is when the boost hits Xpsi, and the hobbs switch kicks on, what will happen.

Is the way i plan on wiring it correct??? If not, let me know the correct way.

Thanks....

I'm going to be doing this myself soon. 85 is the relay ground, which you can gang with a manual switch to ground, won't need power to the switch like you said.

I believe in using Hobbs switches on big hit systems... but it has been my experience that they cannot be trusted. The only way I would run one these day is if it were on a car that I could check it's operation prior to each and every pass.

They are great, but they are not reliable in my experience...ask anyone at the track running multiple big shots and I would bet you'll get a similar response.

Good luck guys.

That's good to know. I thought about a little pilot lite simular to the one on my Snow meth inj. that would tell you when it's activated...
Is there something better than a hobbs sw.?

http://www.classictruckshop.com/club...h/foglites.htm

This is the diagram i have my setup based off of.

I have the hobbs switch set to 3psi and it is wired to +12v and pin 85.
What i am thinking is also wiring a toggle switch to +12v and pin 85.

The only thing i am concerned with is if the toggle switch is on (putting +12v to pin 85 and activating the relay) and the boost hits 3psi (activating the hobbs) what's going to happen???

Also as an FYI, i also have an LED wired to the relay output, (pin 87) so when there is power going to the fuel pump, it will light the LED letting me know that pump is on...
