28lb'rs gonna be enough?? Hey Guys,
OK, I have searched, and couldn't find what I was looking for.
I have a walbro 255.
I have a 230/230 cam, and stawk 243 heads w/ a valve job. I'll be sporting a LS1 intake for now, and will do a LS6 soon.
Will the 28lb injectors be enough? Or should I upgrade?
NOW, I will be spraying in the future, but I'll move on to 42lbs then.

yep, I would go ahead and get some 42# injectors. it is a worthy investment. if you have any questions about injectors just PM me or post here. I would recommend flow matched injectors if you can do that money wise.

I thought you will have idle issues if you go to big or will be hard to tune. If you are going to run a wet shot, you don't need bigger injectors. My stock 26 pounders are running 91 injector duty cycle at WOT. I just upgraded to 30 pounders. I plan on running a 125 hp wet shot and I do not need my injectors spraying more fuel since its a wet shot. If you plan on other MODS like bigger cam or better flowing heads, you might want to get bigger ones. Not sure about 42# though.

Yeah I was over 90% with just bolt ons, generally over 80% injector duty cycle you need larger injectors, you will be way over 80% with that cam if you're not already. I would get some bigger injectors now.

with a wet kit its even more of a reason to run 42's lean is bad when spraying and your pretty close already. 42's have been around long enough that a decent shop can tune the car to idel at what it is now

Brett Foote Correct me if Im wrong but I thought with a wet kit, the injectors do not give the nitrous extra fuel. The extra fuel comes from the fuel rails and mixes with the nitrous and sprays in the plate. That is if its a plate nitrous system. If this is the case, why do you need bigger injectors? If you have a dry nitrous system, the injectors give the extra fuel for the nitrous.
Your correct, but the injectors help maintain the pressure at the rails. Any drop in pressure will cause the car to run lean and lean is bad. Think aboout it like this. The car naturally pulls fuel. If a nitrous wet kit is pulling fuel in addition, what offsets that. The bigger injestors will help offset and keep the car from running lean and will assist maintaining pressure at the rails.
Makes since. I was always told that if I upgrade my fuel pump and if my injector duty cycle is 80% and below, no need for bigger injectors. If you are running lean by spraying. All you do to adjust fuel is change the size of fuel nozzle on the nitrous kit.
