fuel gauge shows wrong,please help

my car is a 95 z28,it has ran out of gas 2 times already,when it hits the quarter mark.i run out of gas,so i have to make sure that i put gas in before it gets ther,is this a common issue,or is it the float messed up.

It's common, mine has about 2 gallons left when I hit 1/4.

Does your car have an aftermarket gauge cluster? Someone might have pulled the needles and not put it back on correctly.

its the factory gauge,if this is common,is there a fix for it.like taking the needle off and setting it to empty

im thinking of replacing the whole unit in the tank,or should i get a 255 pump and just replace the pump
